DTE Energy has kicked off a limited-time pilot program to reduce energy in targeted areas of West Bloomfield, Commerce Township, Walled Lake and Novi. To drive this initiative, DTE is offering electric customers, served by a specific substation, exclusive triple incentives on qualifying equipment such as energy-efficient air conditioning units and ECMs.

How long is the Promotion? The pilot promotion is available through September 30, 2019. Applications must be submitted by October 31, 2019, for projects completed between May 16 through September 30, 2019.

Where are these areas? The target territory consists primarily of portions of West Bloomfield, Commerce Township, Walled Lake and Novi.

Who Qualifies? Eligible customers have been pre-selected to participate and sent the offer directly. Qualifying customers are based on addresses served by Hancock Substation. However, to avoid confusion on geographic boundaries, the offer will be honored for customers within the following perimeters: 

  • South of Wise/Willow Rd
  • East of South Commerce Rd
  • North of 13 Mile Rd
  • West of Drake Rd 

This pilot promotion will be sent to approximately 7,500 residential, micro-targeted electric customers. Click here to view the DTE Hancock Substation map. An email was sent on May 23, and postcards were issued to eligible customers on June 25 informing them that they qualify for triple rebates on air conditioning replacements/tune-ups and ECMs on furnace replacements.

Please note: This promotion is directed at select customers and funding is not available to extend these offers to all DTE Energy customers.

Please advise that the DTE tune-up rebates require a more comprehensive diagnostic tune-up than a standard clean and check or annual maintenance service. Customers may only receive the AC Tune-Up rebate if the Tune-Up meets our basic program requirements.
